Whether your goal is building muscle, losing fat, or a combination of both … fitness is hard. Period.

In fact, making the decision to improve your lifestyle and chase after those fitness goals is one of the hardest decisions there is to make.

Most of us know exactly what we need to do to make the changes we want, but that doesn’t make it any easier.

We know we need to follow a nutrition plan.

We know we need to exercise.

We know we need to drink water.

We know we need to sleep better.

What if I told you there is a way to make all this hard work a little bit easier?

And that has nothing to do with diet, workouts, or supplementation.

ACCOUNTABILITY is what I am referring too.

You HAVE to find effective ways to hold yourself accountable to accomplishing the goals you have set for yourself.

Here are 4 easy tips that will help you achieve your fitness goals:

1) FIND YOUR WHY – You have to find a reason you want to make the changes that you say you want to make. Find purpose behind your decision to live a healthier lifestyle.

Maybe that’s being a better example for your children …

Maybe it’s to look better for a trip …

Maybe it’s to avoid serious health conditions like heart disease or high blood pressure …

Focusing on your WHY can be a huge factor in keeping yourself accountable.

2) MAKE A FITNESS POWERLIST – A Powerlist is 5 critical tasks that must be completed each day. This can be for anything, including health and fitness-oriented tasks.

Drinking 1 gallon of water per day

Getting in 45 minutes of exercise per day

Averaging 8 hours of sleep per night

Taking your multi vitamin, etc.

Writing these tasks down every single day and crossing them off holds you accountable ... and also helps you build momentum towards achieving your goals.

3) SET SMALL GOALS – Small goals are attainable goals that get momentum going.

Maybe it is losing 1 pound per week.

Maybe it is setting the goal to work out at least 3x per week.

Maybe it is limiting alcohol to just 1-2 drinks per week.

Maybe it is limiting yourself to just 1 cheat meal per week.

Chances are, it’s probably going to be a collection of all of the above. Regardless, accomplishing these small goals on a daily or weekly basis will add up to big wins.

4) FIND AN ACCOUNTABILITY PARTNER – This is honestly the most important and a lot of times it’s a make-or-break factor.

Find someone with the same goals and aspirations as you…and work towards those goals together! Find someone you know will stick by your side even during the toughest of times.

Someone you know will call you out if you are not sticking to your plan.

Someone you know who will wake you up early to work out.

Someone you know who will even remind you to get your water in.

This accountability partner could literally be the reason you succeed and vice versa. Having that person by your side is one of the most beneficial things you could have when it comes to health and fitness success.

These four simple tips are easy to put into play, and will make a huge difference when following through with your fitness goals.
