We have all heard it before …
Don’t eat after a certain time …
Your body stores food as fat at nighttime…
But is that really the case? Should you not eat after a certain time? Does your body TRULY store fat easier at night?
Let’s talk about it …
Now more than ever, with everything going on with COVID-19, it's crucial to make your health and nutrition a priority.
A lot of people are working on developing good habits now, while they have a little extra time on their hands ... especially before we get back to our normal day to day routine.
I will keep this short, sweet and to the point. The answer is ABSOLUTELY NOT! Not only is this not true … it may possibly be the biggest MYTH when it comes to your health and nutrition.
Let me explain … Your body does not know what time it is. There is no magical clock signaling to your body that it is 7 o’clock and now, you can’t eat anything or it will turn into fat.
Not only is this far from the truth, there are actually several benefits to eating before bed, especially a complete protein source!
Consuming a complete protein source every 2-3 hours throughout the day/night (and yes even before bed), will help your body stay in a fat burning and muscle building state, even while sleeping!
Remember, it is possible to overeat at any point in the day. Morning, afternoon, night … your body will not know the difference. It comes down to your overall food intake throughout the day.
If you are following a plan and you still have food to eat to hit your daily goal, but it is getting close to bedtime … EAT IT! You will not store more fat, just because it’s later in the day.
Just remember to stick to your plan because that is the KEY to progress.
