No matter if your goal is to lose weight or build muscle ... you know that working out is important.

One of the biggest worries our customers have right now, is whether or not they can see results with doing body weight exercises at home.

For many of us that don't have a home gym ... it might feel like all hope at making progress is lost, or even worse: the hard work that you put in will disappear and you will lose those hard earned muscles.

If this is your current situation, I have great news for you!

Maintaining muscle is FAR easier than growing new muscle.

When it comes to losing muscle, there are a lot more factors outside of just weight training that play a part, but for this article I want to stay focused on weight training.

If you've taken some time off training before, the "muscle loss" you see in the early beginning is typically just your body holding less carbs and fluid inside your muscle cell.

This is because less energy is needed to be stored in the muscle since activity is down. This size is normally gained back after a week or two of regular training.

Research shows that our bodies are actually great at holding onto muscle tissue as long as they are properly fueled and undergo some form of resistance.

That means that we can typically use our body weight to not only maintain our progress until the gym opens back up ... but you can actually make a little bit of progress during this time away from the gym.

It is a good idea to keep protein high during this time, and consume about 1 gram per pound of body weight. This will help you hold onto as much muscle as possible.

Body weight training has been used to create strong, healthy physiques for centuries ... it just takes a little creativity.

If you're struggling with your at home workout, contact your local Supplement Superstores and one of our N.A.S.M. Certified Personal Trainers will help you formulate a plan.
