If Halloween left your routine a little out of balance, you’re not alone. Between treats, parties, and busy schedules, it’s normal to slip a bit.
But don’t stress! A few off days won’t derail all your hard work.
Now’s the perfect time to refocus, refresh, and get back into your groove.
Here are some easy ways to reset after Halloween and finish the fall feeling strong and steady.
Step 1: Set a clear goal
After a break, having something to aim for helps you regain focus.
Think short-term: “I’ll get 3 solid workouts in this week,” or “I’ll cook dinner at home 5 nights.”
Small wins build momentum ... and momentum is everything.
Step 2: Plan Your Meals
The best way to move past the candy cravings ... having structure.
You need to make sure you have some type of a plan to stick with.
It could be as simple as portioning out your meals & snacks. You could also get a little more advanced and track your calories and/or macros.
Step 3: Prioritize Protein
Protein helps rebuild muscle, keeps you full, and reduces sugar cravings.
Start your day with a protein-packed breakfast ... eggs, Greek yogurt, or a shake.
Even if this was the only thing you changed upfront when getting back into your healthy routine ... it will make a huge difference.
Step 4: Drink Plenty of Water
Sugar and salty snacks can leave you feeling puffy and dehydrated.
When you stay hydrated, you’ll notice better appetite control, higher energy levels, healthier skin, improved digestion, and countless other health benefits.
Aim to drink about half your body weight in ounces. You can also add electrolytes if you’ve been feeling extra sluggish.
Step 5: Move Again
You don’t need to jump straight into intense training. Just start moving!
Go for a walk, hit a short lift, or do something fun that gets your heart rate up. The point is to rebuild consistency, not punish yourself.
Step 6: Get Quality Sleep
Ideally, 7-9 hours is what you want to shoot for.
There are countless benefits to good sleep habits including appetite control, stronger immune system, lowered risk of disease, improved mood, higher energy levels ... and that's just scratching the surface.
I know this can be tough no matter what's going on in your life ... but do your best to focus more on your sleep. It's crucial for a healthy routine.
Step 7: Supplements
There's quite literally a supplement to help with almost every tip on this list.
That's what supplements are ... tools to help you make your routine a little easier. Struggle with eating enough protein? You can look into a meal replacement protein shake.
Lacking the energy you need to get up and move? Try a pre-workout or daily energy supplement like a metabolism booster.
Can't shut your mind off at night and struggle to fall asleep? Yep ... there's a supplement for that too!
No matter what you're struggling with ... there's going to be a supplement that can help.
The bottom line is that Halloween is about enjoying yourself ... not starting over. So shake off the guilt, set a goal, and take small, intentional steps forward.
